Software Modification Services
The PROMPT System is flexible and will meet the needs of most users in
businesses or industries similar to one of the installations identified
in the References section of this web site. However, one of the advantages
that PROMPT users have enjoyed over the years is the ability to purchase on
a fee basis a specific change in the software, and we continue to provide
this service.
There are two types of services available:
Quick and easy modifications:
For example, a request to modify a report done with the PROMPT Report
Writer might be a quick and easy modification. This type of request
is handled by an email or fax request and we research the effort
involved. If the User is a current subscriber to the PROMPT Software
Maintenance and Support Services program there is no charge for the
research.
We respond by email or fax advising the cost to make the change. If accepted we
make the change and deliver it to you either by phone assistance or software
download.
More complicated modifications:
The approach is similar to above except we break the project into (1)
Research and Design, (2) Programming and testing, and (3) Installation
and training.
Once the request is defined in writing we will provide a fixed cost
estimate to do the research and design and a very rough cost range to
do the programming and installation and training. Often the
programming cost cannot be defined until the research and design
phase is completed.
If you agree to do the research and design phase, it must be paid, if
you chose to scrap the project and not do the programming or
installation phase.
