This user has seven workstations and three printers. Like many PROMPT users
that are distributors they have a walk in point of sale counter with a
dedicated printer for invoice or pack list printing. Their other invoices
are batch printed daily on a system printer, as there are often multiple
deliveries to the same account during the day.
When orders are picked up or delivered that are potential multiple orders,
the order includes a pack list showing the invoice lines for the items
delivered or picked up and the order is then placed on hold. When they get
a second or subsequent delivery during the day only the new lines are
printed for this delivery, but the same order number continues for the day.
The next morning the invoices are batch closed and printed and mailed.
This cycle can be longer than a day if desired.
We made a modification for this PROMPT Business System user that allows them
to track each part sold to repair their customer's equipment identified by
serial number or asset number. This modification enables them to provide a
service to their customer reporting parts ordered for maintenance to
specific equipment.
It is important to understand that this PROMPT Business System user enjoys
the other features of the software explained under all other industry
segment headings of this web page and on the Products web page.
